thanks im 14 and just started and this sounds like it should work thank u best advice ive ever had
i am a 11 hadicap but if you realise the club which is good for the long irons but when i am close and want to hold the green relise would make the ball roll and then you would not hold the green. this is my qwestion
this tip got rid of my slice right away. thank u so much.
Ha im on the golf team and im a freshman. I have no chance to even play in a match but with this my score cards come down from mid to high 40s to low 40a im not gunna play this year but this is the best tip i have ever herd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been working on a stronger grip to fix my slice with some success but this tip really push it into high gear. I drove father and straighter with 90% consistancy today at the range. I’m gonna use this little nugget of advice alot!
It is a great drill for all clubs..
You won’t be able to get as much snap at the ball with your hands apart, but you will add big time power once you get the hang of it and can release it with your normal grip..
Glad it helps
We use this drill tons with our golf academy.
The strategy is to keep doing the drill until you hook everything, then gradually move your bottom hand up until you have your normal grip.
I was just at the range today, and I’m a young golfer (13, almost 14) and i was drilling the ball 200 yards (which is a good shot for me) but it would end up literally 30 yards to the right of my target, My dad was there and he kept telling me to roll my hands roll my hands roll my hands, and finally I listened to him and I drilled one about 230 yards right at my target. Ofcourse I still hit a few slices, all I concentrate now is my weight shifting, turning, and rolling my hands. Good video!
I have tenancy to strike the ball from the inside/out. (As do most golfers who tend to slice) While doing this excercise with my 6 iron i hit the ball straight and to the left 20 yards. After some thought, i realized i was setting my body up to compensate for my slice. With this said, its amazing what your body does subconsciously.
PS. I’m tempted to play a round with this grip alone.
Just out of curiosity i also tried my driver. Straight as an arrow and consistent!
I seen this tip on a dvd last year by Butch Harmon himself!! I could never hit my driver as the slice was absolutely terrible, im using this tip since i seen it and it has realy improved my game. Im now hitting the driver very well with this technique and playing more golf than ever. Anyone with a realy bad slice should definitly try out this tip!!
yh can u report to me how it works on the driver plz
thx
I tried this today off the tee and it really helped me. I was able to hit straight 220 yards just about everytime.
wow. This really helped a lot. I am 50 yards farther and dead straight. Took a few shots to get used to it but I am going to use it all the time on my drives now.
natural golf type of grip?
is there any reason why i shouldnt hit my driver with the “split hands” all of the time? i am making much better contact and i am hitting the ball dead straight.
I find to focus on my follow through, (make sure my belt buckle is facing the target at finish) ensures i hit the ball straight. When I do slice and push the ball simulatnously it is because my body was facing in that direction at finish.
Shorter club = forces you to stay down instead of ‘lifting up.’ Try a 1/2″ or 1″ short shaft.
Good tip. I`ll give it a try tomorrow at the range.
Very Good Video, i’ll go try this right away to cure that bad slice. Thanks
Gonna try this. thanks!
This is great. Does anyone know how to stay in your stance. I tend to stand up in my stance in my release and shank the ball….Any takers???
